Judoka Edmilson Pedro, an athlete from Grupo Desportivo Interclube, was crowned champion in the 66 kilogram category of the National Judo Championship, held in the dojo of the Main Pavilion of Cidadela Desportiva, in Luanda.In the final, “Bicho Papão” gave Clemente de Carvalho, who plays for 1.o de Agosto, no room to maneuver on the mat and defeated him with a ‘morote soe nage’, leaving his opponent with the silver medal. Hélder Miguel, from Interclube, won the bronze.
Acácio Quifucussa, from Interclube, won in the -81kg category and his teammate, Antunes Vunge, came in second place. Wilson Bimbi, from Judo Elite, came in third.
Denis Silva, from Judo Elite, won the gold medal in the -100kg category. Jonathan Muchipai and Esmael Correia, both from Sporting de Luanda, took the next positions.
António Etona, from Sporting de Luanda, was the winner in the -60kg category. Leonardo Barros, from Sporting de Luanda, took silver. Armindo Pedro, from Interclube, took bronze.
In the -73kg category, Alberto Quilombo, from CD Prenda, finished the competition in first place. António Francisco, from Sporting de Luanda, and Manuel Canda, from Judo Elite, took the podium.
Manuel Camone, from Interclube, is the champion in the -90kg category. Helton João, from 1.o de Agosto, won in the +100kg category.
In relation to the mixed team specialty, Sporting de Luanda took first place, followed by Interclube and Judo Elite.
In the women’s category, Aicha Rebeca, from Interclube, won gold in the -78kg category. Odília Verónica, from 1.o de Agosto, took silver, and Odeth Pedro, from CD Boavista, took bronze.
Diassonema Neide, from 1.o de Agosto, won gold in the 70kg category.
