Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of JURA in the province of Huambo, Florindo Sokila, called on youth to learn more about the life and work of Angolan nationalists, as patriotic references in the national liberation struggle.

The head of the UNITA political party’s youth organization made this statement during a workshop addressed to members of civil society, where he recognized the selfless sacrifice of nationalists, which culminated in the proclamation of National Independence in 1975.

Florindo Sokila said it is important that young people have the best possible references to serve as a guide in their daily efforts to defend the ideals and interests of the Angolan people.

To this end, he said it is important that the new generation knows more about the efforts and achievements achieved in the clandestine struggles against Portuguese colonialism, so that the proclamation of National Independence could be achieved.

On February 4, 1961, a group of determined men launched a joint attack in Luanda, with the aim of freeing political prisoners who were in prison, in a bravery that culminated in the achievement of freedom for the Angolan people.

UNITA was founded on March 13, 1966, in the town of Muangai, Moxico province.
