Africa-Press – Angola. The first concert of the year of the Kuimbila Ni Kukina Semba project, with Dom Caetano, Augusto Chacaya and Lulas da Paixão, brought to life on Sunday afternoon the João Adilson Hall, on Rua da Dona Zita, in Marçal.
The Marçal neighborhood was celebrating on Sunday, with the trio Dom Caetano, Augusto Chacaya and Lulas da Paixão toasting Angolan music enthusiasts and not only those who went to the João Adilson Hall.
The artists were supported by Banda Yetu, with Benjamim (bass), Zé Luís (viola-rhythm), Claudio Clic-Clac (solo), Chico Santos (drums and vocals), João Daloba (drums), Nininho (keyboards) and Lolito (lead voice). The formation also presented well-known themes of national music.
Dom Caetano was the first artist to perform and as a good communicator he made an aftermath of the meeting that addressed a possible elevation of Semba as National Intangible Heritage. On behalf of his colleagues, he defended that it is urgent to materialize this intention. The singer resorted to the themes that mark his performances and shared the stage with Lula da Paixão in “Ueji ki Usokama”, composer of the theme, he was not intimidated by the challenge of journalist Isaías Afonso, even without rehearsing he sang “Maka”.
Lulas Paixão closed the poster and did not leave out “Tio”, “Kim”, “Nguami Maka” and other regulars in his repertoire. In his own way, Augusto Chacaya, unlike his colleagues, opened with “Nzala” by Elias dya Kimuezo and then a unpublished theme as a novelty for the public to appreciate, then he returned with the hits that consecrated him like “Sandra” and “Samba Samba”.
During the activity, the artists praised the achievements of Galiano Neto, composer and drummer who died on Thursday in Lisbon. With the house full, several personalities were present.
