Africa-Press – Angola. The Lobito Port in 2021 moved 1.4 million tons of several products transported in 401 ships comparing to 1.1 million tons transported by 355 ships in 2020.

According to the Lobito Port Chairman of the Board of Directors Celso Rosas who revealed these data on the occasion of the new year greetings ceremony, the amounts of 2021 corresponds to an increase of 12,95% in ships and 27,54% in cargo in addition to 2020.

“It’s a positive indicator regarding to the productivity, being that the services that generated more revenues were at the simple estimate the traffic and use of the Port corresponding to 28,32%, 30 and 13,11 respectively”, emphasized the official.

Regarding to the revenues during the year 2021, the Port collected 20.9 billion, an increase of around 15.32% due to the increase in ships and cargo handling.

œOne of the great challenges of this Board of Directors is to increase the competitiveness of the Porto in order to match the services of competing companies said Celso Rosa.

According to the CEO, to achieve this goal there was a strong commitment to the training and qualification of workers, in the recovery of the company’s equipment and facilities.
