Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço regretted on Friday, in Luanda, that he will no longer be present and participate in the celebrations of the celebrations of the Independence of Cabo Verde.

In a message, addressed to his counterpart José Maria Neves, the Head of State considered the date glorious for the country and the Cape Verdean people.

The Angolan president attributed his absence to the fact that he has made commitments that literally prevent him from personally sharing this moment of joy for all Portuguese-speaking people.

He took the opportunity to congratulate the people, the Government of Cabo Verde, on behalf of the Angolan Executive, for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Independence.

In this celebration, he continued, “of the Golden Jubilee of our nations, I exalt the spirit of unity that has guided our common action in the past and that remains relevant in the present, and pertinent in the prosperous and auspicious future”.

He said that the respective countries are committed to building the future within the framework of the extensive cooperation between Angola and the Republic of Cabo Verde.

He stressed that the historical and cultural ties that bind the two States continue to be important and determining factors for the permanent combination of efforts aimed at strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation.

The President reiterated his best wishes that Cape Verdeans, united around his leadership, remain firm in building a country with references that serve as a model of an administration with results based on good governance practices.
