Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, invited the Presidents Paul Kagame, of Rwanda, Félix Tshisekedi, of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Évariste Ndayishimiye, of Burundi, and the former President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, to a summit in Luanda , next Monday (21).

According to a press note sent yesterday to Jornal de Angola, the meeting aims to approve the Action Plan for Peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the re-establishment of good relations between Rwanda and the DRC.

João Lourenço addressed the invitation to these entities, as Champion of Peace and Reconciliation of the African Union, in charge of the dossier of the DRC-Rwanda conflict.

As part of the mediation of political and military tension, the Angolan statesman was in Rwanda on Friday (11) and Saturday (12) in the Democratic Republic of Congo to hold talks with his counterparts Paul Kagame and Félix Tshisekedi.

During the meetings with his counterparts, João Lourenço presented proposals to adapt the Roadmap for Peace in Luanda to the new reality experienced on the border between the two countries.

João Lourenço, who chairs the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), is also the African Union (AU) mediator in the crisis between Rwanda and the DRC.
