Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, meets, this Saturday (4), in Luanda, with his counterparts from the DRC and Rwanda to investigate the causes behind the latest events on the border between neighboring countries.

The meeting, which takes place at Mirex’s Afonso Van-Dúnem Mbinda amphitheater, was announced last Wednesday by the Angolan Head of State and Acting President of the International Conference on Peace in the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), João Lawrence.

During the meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly of the African Union (AU), held by videoconference, the Head of State informed African leaders that the latest developments on the common border between Rwanda and the DRC were of concern to the region and the continent.

For President João Lourenço, dialogue is the only way for the parties to overcome the current climate of tension. On the occasion, he made it known that he had agreed with the DRC and Rwanda to hold two meetings, one between the Intelligence Services and the other between the ministers of Foreign Affairs of Angola and the two countries.

The President of the Republic said “there is no environment, at the moment, for the DRC and Rwanda to dialogue at the level of Heads of State.
