Africa-Press – Angola. Angola capital city, which celebrates its 450th anniversary this Sunday, January 25, is to host the 2nd International Conference on Energy and Water on May 28th to 29th of this year, aiming to address the main challenges and opportunities in this sector, with a focus on promoting technological and sustainable solutions.

The event will bring together government decision-makers, investors, experts, institutional leaders, representatives from the academic sector and national and international entrepreneurs, according to a press release from the Ministry of Energy and Water to which ANGOP had access.

Among other topics, conference participants will also discuss the adoption of new strategic partnerships between the public, private and academic sectors, in accordance with the priorities of the Angolan Government.

According to the statement, the conference will be a structuring instrument to support the implementation of the Executive’s public policies, aimed at promoting sustainable development, energy and water security, and improving the quality of life of the population.

Alongside the conference, a technology exhibition dedicated to the energy and water sectors will take place, aiming to create an integrated space for reflection, knowledge sharing, as well as the promotion of innovative solutions.

The event was launched on Friday by the Ministry of Energy and Water, in an act led by minister João Baptista Borges, who highlighted the Angolan government’s involvement in strengthening public policies in this sector.

The document adds that the conference will serve as a structuring instrument to support the implementation of the Government’s public policies aimed at sustainable development, energy and water security, as well as improving the quality of life of the population.
