Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, authorized the construction, in the near future, of new drinking water distribution networks in the province of Luanda, in an investment of more than 512 billion euros, to overcome the supply deficiency in the country’s capital.

According to Presidential Order No. 289/23, of December 12, Thursday, the new networks will be built in the areas of Cacuaco, Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, Kilometer 30-Viana, Bom Jesus, PIV, Centrality of the Sequel and Package 1 Quilonga Grande.

The contract, which includes the construction of water distribution networks and respective household connections and fountains, provides support facilities for lots Q11, Q12, Q14, Q15, Q17, Q18 and Q20, located in Sequele.

The President of the Republic authorized the expense and formalization of the opening of the Simplified Contracting Procedure, using material criteria, for the conclusion of contracts with the consortium constituted by the companies Casais, SA, and Opaia Europa, to provide technical coordination and management services construction contract, and with the consortium made up of the companies Dar Angola – Consultoria, Limitada, and Dar Al- Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners) BSC Closed.

Supervision of the project, worth 12 million euros, is the responsibility of the consortium made up of the companies REPA – Gestão e Engenharia, Limitada, MBAN – Tecnologias e Prestação de Serviços, Limitada, and AMBIGEST – Gestão, Engenharia e Ambiente, SA

According to the document, the Executive will also invest eight million, five hundred and fifty thousand euros in the provision of technical coordination and management services for the project.

President João Lourenço delegates to the Minister of Energy and Water the competence, with the ability to sub-delegate, to carry out decision-making and supervisory approval acts, as well as to verify the validity and legality of all acts carried out within the scope of the aforementioned procedure. , including the conclusion and signing of contracts.

Authorizes the Ministry of Finance to register projects in the General State Budget and ensure the availability of financial resources for the execution of contracts.
