Africa-Press – Angola. Luena, the capital of the eastern Moxico province, will be the first region outside of Luanda to host the 6th edition of the National Cultural Arts Festival, “Tchole,” from November 1-8.
The festival will bring together artists from Luanda, Lunda-South, Lunda-North, and Moxico provinces.
According to Valdemiro Francisco, the general director of the cultural project, theater icons who stood out before and after independence are expected to participate.
Francisco said the festival will promote and attract culture, feature colloquia and discussions on topics related to the sector, and include arts workshops and the exchange of experiences among artists.
The event will also showcase Moxico’s cultural, tourism, and gastronomic potential and pay tribute to artists from the three regions, especially the host region.
The Tchole National Cultural Arts Festival was created in 2019 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Nzila Teatro Art Company in Luanda.
