Lunda Norte prioritizes road rehabilitation in 2024

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Lunda Norte, Deolinda Vilarinho Satula, reiterated this Friday that the rehabilitation of some of the main access roads will be the Government’s priority in the economic year 2024.

When considering actions for 2024, the official said that the priority will be the Cuango/Xá-muteba, Nzagi/Tchicolondo and Camaxilo/Lubalo/Xinge sections, covering a length of more than 300 kilometers.

According to Deolinda Vilarinho, the rehabilitation of the Nzagi/Tchicolondo section will boost cross-border trade, contributing to an increase in tax revenue.

The Tchicolondo border, in the municipality of Cambulo, is one of the main sources of tax revenue collection in the country and the largest in Lunda Norte.

He made it known that the Camaxilo/LubalolXinge section, Estrada Nacional 170, with a length of 215 kilometers, was included in the 2024 General State Budget, and its rehabilitation will attract investors from the agricultural sector, mainly fruit producers.

He highlighted the completion of national roads 225 and 230, which connect the eastern region to the rest of the country, a gain that will attract social and economic development in that corridor of Angola.

On the other hand, he said that his government has been making efforts to implement projects for the requalification and maintenance of municipal headquarters, having already started work on the requalification of sidewalks and curbs, public lighting systems, basic sanitation infrastructure and cleaning and beautification services in Chitato.
