Africa-Press – Angola. The new Malian ambassador to Angola, Saydou Coulibaly, expressed his intention this Thursday in Luanda to deepen trade relations between the two countries, with a focus on partnerships with the private sector and investors.

Speaking to the press after presenting his credentials to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the Malian diplomat also mentioned the intention to expand bilateral cooperation in the mining, oil, education, and sports sectors.

The ambassador, who highlighted Angola’s growing role in the African and international landscape, said he hopes to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in sectors where Angola has significant experience.On the other hand, he mentioned the need to strengthen consular cooperation, considering the presence of a significant Malian community in Angola, for the protection of its citizens.

In the political-diplomatic sphere, the representative of Mali highlighted as a priority the creation of a mechanism for regular political consultations and the strengthening of the bilateral legal framework, through the negotiation and signing of agreements in various areas.

He recalled Mali’s contribution to the stabilization of Angola in the past.

Congo advocates for strengthened economic cooperation

The new ambassador of the Republic of Congo, David Madouka, advocated for strengthened economic cooperation between the two countries.

The diplomat, with experience in the areas of Francophonie and Congolese communities abroad, thanked the Angolan Head of State and the Angolan people for the reception, highlighting the “special” nature of bilateral relations.

He emphasized that the ties between the two countries are based on a long history of solidarity and mutual support, recalling the cooperation during the period of Angola’s struggle for independence.

The ambassador stated that political relations between Brazzaville and Luanda are consolidated, arguing that the current priority is to strengthen economic cooperation and deepen partnerships that contribute to the development of both countries.

For the diplomat, strengthening economic ties represents the next step in the evolution of bilateral relations, underlining the importance of joint initiatives that promote prosperity and regional integration.
