Still galvanized by the title of African champion with Senegal, Liverpool forward Sadio Mané scored an anthological goal against Norwich, at Anfield, last Saturday, on account of the 26th round of the Premier League and, thus, equals the record of the Côte d’Ivoire legend Didier Drogba (104 goals).
The Senegalese star now has 104 goals and 44 assists in 251 Premier League games.
Scorer of Liverpool’s equalizer against Norwich, in the 64th minute, in a gesture worthy of “beach football”, Sadio Mané now occupies 2nd place in the general classification of the best African scorers of all time in the English Premier League. The “Top 3” of the best African scorers in the Premier League, has in 1st place Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Chelsea, Liverpool) 114 goals in 181 matches; 2nd Sadio Mané (Senegal/Southampton, Liverpool) 104 goals in 251 games and, 3rd, Didier Drogba (Côte d’Ivoire/Chelsea) 104 goals in 254 games.
