The Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem, received, on Monday morning, in Luanda, the young Mateus Oficial “Matilson”, who helped save lives, in the accident of a passenger bus that fell into a ditch, in Viana. “Our operatives from the National Police and the Civil Protection and Fire Service, with the help of inspiring young people, especially Mateus Domingos Oficial “Matilson”, a 17-year-old teenager, have carried out actions of great moral and civic symbolism in recent days, thus preventing the death of more people”, said the minister in a publication of the Ministry of the Interior on Facebook.
“I praise the bravery of the personnel involved in the operation”, he said.
According to the same publication, due to his unusually courageous attitude and at the family’s request, Mateus will receive guidance and support for his integral growth at the Comandante José Alfredo “Ekuikui” Police College. “Our deepest solidarity with the injured and bedridden and we wish them a speedy recovery”, concludes the publication.
