The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, delivered, this Wednesday, in the province of Cuanza-Norte, the delivery of the first vehicles of the Support project of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, to Transport and Goods Operators for rural commerce, approved by the Executive in 2021.

Manuel Nunes Júnior said, at the handover ceremony, that the activity that economic agents carry out is fundamental to the effort that the Executive is undertaking, with a view to increasing national production and diversifying the economy.

According to data, at this stage, the province of Cuanza-Norte received 10 of the first vehicles, out of a total of 33 planned, which will serve to support the activity of local economic operators, to facilitate the flow of agricultural production from the countryside to the major consumption centers.

Regulated by Presidential Decree nº 19/21, of 20 January, in line with the Integrated Program for the Development of Rural Trade and the incentive for Aggregating Commercial Agents, it aims to renew the national fleet of 500 vehicles, which is in terrible technical conditions. and increase the flow of agricultural production from the countryside to the city.

According to him, the prospects for the country’s economic growth in the coming years are good and the initiative will help the national economy to become increasingly dynamic, stronger and above all more efficient.

For Manuel Nunes Júnior, the movement of products from the countryside to the city will become faster, safer and all this will certainly have a positive effect on the price of these goods, with multiple gains for Agriculture, Industry, Commerce, and ultimately, consumers, who may now have access to more competitive prices.

The official clarified, on the occasion, that priority is given to people who were already engaged in the transport of goods. “They already know the business well, know how to take risks and expect a positive return on the operations they carry out. This is an essential element for the success of this important initiative”, he considered.

This initiative, he said, will significantly contribute to boosting economic life in rural areas, including the creation of infrastructure for storing and distributing production, promoting local associations of producers and marketing agricultural and livestock products.

For the governor of Cuanza-Norte, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, the entry into operation of these vehicles will greatly mitigate the waste of local production, embodied in the constant deterioration of the products, in several agricultural fields and augurs that the means delivered will last. maximum of its useful life in order to guarantee the success of actions aimed at the development of the entire rural commerce chain, which includes production, transport, distribution and marketing.

In this sense, he said, there are greater security guarantees regarding the conditions that facilitate the flow of products from the countryside to the logistic centers and, from these, to the citizen’s table, so that the peasants can obtain their profit, increasing their production and consequently improving their living conditions.

The act was also attended by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, members of the central executive and local government, ecclesiastical and traditional authorities, representatives of business associations and guests.
