The electoral campaign by the MPLA party in Cabinda was sealed, this Saturday, with a mass political act, never seen before in the city, with the epicenter being the Chiweca football field, which was red-hot, with the traditional identity colors of the “M ”: red, yellow and black.
Activists, friends and party sympathizers from all over the province (Cacongo, Buco-Zau, Belize, including the host municipality Cabinda) were at the location of the act, which is south of the city of Cabinda), to hear from the first -Secretary Marcos Nhunga the message, about what was done in terms of political or party activities during the electoral campaign.
He highlighted the achievements of the government supported by the MPLA, in the most varied domains from social, economic and political, during the last five years about to end for the well-being of the people of Cabinda.
The party’s first secretary asked the people of Cabinda to remember “all the good that the candidate and President of the Republic, João Lourenço, did for the province”, exemplifying the mega project to build the ETA in Sassa-zau, which solved the water problem faced by the populations of Cabinda and the village of Lândana for decades.
Now with uninterrupted water supply, the increase in electricity production levels from the Malembo Thermal Power Plant, from 95 megawatts to 170 megawatts, with the reinforcement of three more turbines of 25 megawatts each, in the last three months , said that the three previously existing engines could be added to this, including two with 35 megawatts and one with 25 megawatts.
He recalled the achievements in the fields of maritime transport, fundamentally the construction of the Maritime Passenger Terminal and the Quebra-Mar, two projects that changed the lives of citizens. “Through this, the province opened up the possibility of establishing trips by sea between the cities of Cabinda, Soyo and Luanda using catamarans and ferryboats are also expected to start operating soon”, he stressed.
He also spoke of the Health sector, with particular reference to the General Hospital of Cabinda, a health unit built from scratch with a capacity for 200 beds and with multiple specialty services and the Hemodialysis Center of Cabinda with 45 dialysis monitors, which are to positively impact the lives of populations.
He recalled that, in the absence of these two services at the provincial level, patients were forced to move to neighboring countries (DRC and Congo), or even Luanda in search of medical assistance at additional costs. He also discussed the project in the very advanced stage of execution for the construction of the centrality of Cabinda, in the locality of Chibodo II with 3,000 dwellings.
