Africa-Press – Angola. A massive campaign to issue license plates and driving licenses was opened Monday, in Malanje, by the Department of Traffic and Road Safety, as part of the discontinuity of the issuance of entries and the reduction of bureaucracy in services.
This campaign runs until the 31st of this month and may be extended, depending on demand.
The information was provided yesterday by the head of the Technical Inspection and Vehicle Licensing section of the Traffic and Road Safety Department of Malanje, Joaquim dos Santos, stressing that the initiative aims to avoid the constant renewal of provisional documents, through the definitive issuance of booklets and driving license.
The official made it known that, at the end of the campaign period, the coercive phase will begin, where users with expired entries will have to pay a fine, in light of Presidential Decree 148/21, of 3 July, which approves the fees and charges applied by the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety.
Meanwhile, Joaquim dos Santos drew attention to the existence of more than a thousand booklets that had been printed some time ago, but that so far have not been claimed by their respective owners, as well as a considerable number of driving licenses to be collected.
He appealed to motorists to collect their documents, noting that the issuance of these documents entails costs for the State coffers.
