Africa-Press – Angola. Municipal administrations in the province of Lunda-Norte were instructed to work on urban restructuring, in order to avoid disorderly constructions and illegal occupation of land, especially land reserves.
The recommendation was made this Tuesday, in Dundo, by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionísio da Fonseca, who also recommended that municipal administrations engage in dialogue with citizens, with a view to instilling in them better pro-urbanization civic conduct, for the improving the image of municipalities.
“Urban planning should deserve some attention. The province is extensive, has more than a million inhabitants and an enormous geographic density, therefore, it is in a position to avoid the mistakes that other provinces have made in the field of urban disruption”, he told the press, at the end of his working visit. to the province of Lunda-Norteo.
He also recommended in-depth work by municipal administrations to improve basic sanitation and reorganize commerce.
To this end, he called for greater dialogue with people, within the scope of education and environmental awareness, so that the population participates in improving basic sanitation.
The Minister of Territorial Administration has worked in Lunda-Norte since Sunday, to find out about the level of execution of municipal infrastructure works, PIIM projects and the socio-economic situation of the communes that will be elevated to the category of municipalities, in within the scope of the New Administrative Political Division.
In Lunda-Norte, the ruler visited the municipalities of Xá-Muteba, Caungula, Lóvua, Cambulo, Lucapa and Chitato.
