Africa-Press – Angola. A delegation from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment, led by the minister, Filipe Zau, visited the Casa do Artista, in Lisbon, on Tuesday, in order to learn about the concept, management model and admission criteria for artists. , in need of social support.
Filipe Zau, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Culture, Maria Piedade de Jesus, learned about the project’s philosophy and the different levels of support provided to artists at that institution. Casa do Artista, which is located on Estrada da Pontinha, in Lisbon, has assumed the commitment to encourage and develop activities related to the cultural area, while maintaining a training and performance dimension.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment highlighted, at the meeting, the need for a similar structure for the field of Culture in Angola, with a view to guaranteeing a broader sense of the dignity of our artists, especially in cases of illness and old age, without family support.
Filipe Zau is in Lisbon to discuss issues concerning the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), within the scope of the “pro tempore” Presidency of Angola, the carrying out of activities related to “Luanda Capital of Culture” and future sectorial meetings of the Culture and Tourism.
