Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) is analyzing the proposed plans submitted by the sectors and provinces to support the new National Development Plan (PDN / 2023 – 2027), and should issue technical opinions of compliance, announced, the Director for Public Private Partnerships (PPP), Augusto Dembo.
After the analysis, the MEP will issue technical compliance opinions, in terms of the structure and content of the proposals, according to the director who spoke at the usual briefing of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
“They are preparing the Sectorial Plans (PDS) and Provincial Plans (PDP) to support the new PDN, to later issue technical opinions of conformity”, he asserted.
He added that the actions are included in the National Planning System, in the continuous process of drawing up the main instruments that will guide the future of the country.
Among the instruments, he added, is the Final Balance of the PDN 2018-2022 which is in the process of collecting information by the technical bodies of the national planning system (sectoral GEPE and provincial GEP).
He made it known that it is also part of the Long-Term Strategy “Angola 2025” and its extension to the horizon 2050, which is in a process of intersectoral and public consultation.
On the other hand, he added that, within the scope of Public Private Partnerships, according to the agreement signed between the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Government of Angola, in the component of support to the public sector (PPP), it took place at the premises of MEP, from March 6th to 10th, a mission with the PPP Specialists team.
The meeting aimed at drawing up a methodology for defining the criteria for identifying and selecting PPP projects, creating a portfolio of PPP projects and drawing up a project’s pre-feasibility study.
This agreement has three components, namely Support for Public Finance Reform (Ministry of Finance-MINFIN), Support for the Public Business Sector and PPP (IGAPE and MEP) and Support for financial sector reform (BNA).
As part of the General Population and Housing Census (RGPH), to be held throughout the national territory in 2024, it announced that the National Institute of Statistics carried out a public consultation to obtain contributions to the questionnaire to be submitted to the population , when carrying out the 2024 CENSUS interviews.
The event held had the motto “Together we count for Angola”, with the aim of obtaining the valuable contribution of academia in what will be the largest statistical operation to be carried out in the country.
