Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participates with 13 companies in the 32nd edition of the International Conference on Mining in Africa (Mining Indaba), which starts this Monday, 9th, in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mining Indaba, the largest mining showcase in the world, brings together around 6,000 delegates, including company leaders and government officials from several African countries, and is a strategic platform to discuss trends, innovations and the challenges facing the mining sector on the continent.
In addition to the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, with its representative services, namely the Geological Institute of Angola, the National Agency of Mineral Resources, ENDIAMA, SODIAM, CATOCA, and other mineral companies are included.
For February 10th, according to the event organizers, “Angola Day” is scheduled, to be marked with a mining investment business forum under the theme: “Revealing Angola’s Mineral Potential through Solid Partnerships”.
At a press conference launching Angola’s participation in the event, whose delegation is led by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino de Azevedo, ENDIAMA’s executive administrator, Ana Feijó, highlighted the company’s role in the global mining scenario.
He said this was a crucial moment to strengthen Angola’s position in the mining sector, in a year in which this parent diamond company celebrates its 45 years of existence.
According to Ana Feijó, participating in this conference is a unique opportunity to interact with world-renowned companies, share knowledge and explore new partnerships that can boost our country’s economy.
“ENDIAMA, as one of the main pillars of the diamond industry, is committed to not only promoting our potential, but also ensuring that our operations follow the best environmental and social practices, fundamental for sustainable development,” Ana Feijó said.
By adopting the motto: “Unlocking the country’s geological and mining potential with strategic and strong partnerships”, Angola’s presence at the conference reflects the country’s growing interest in consolidating its position in the global natural resources market, especially in the mining of diamonds, iron, gold and other critical minerals and rare earths, with a focus on sustainability, technological innovation and transparency.
The International Conference on Mining in Africa, whose 32nd edition will take place under the motto: Stronger Together: Progress Through Partnerships”, is one of the largest events in the sector on the continent, bringing together more than 300 companies and representatives from 30 countries, all with the aim of exchanging ideas and discussing the future of mining in Africa, a sector that is fundamental to the economies of many countries on the continent.
