MININT wants rigor in controlling the migratory flow in Cuanza Norte

Africa-Press – Angola. The delegate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) in Cuanza Norte, António da Conceição Neto, asked, this Wednesday, in Ndalatando, the staff of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), greater rigor in the control of the migratory flow in province.

He stressed that Cuanza Norte is a fundamental crossing point between the border provinces of the North, East and South of the country, with the capital of Angola, Luanda, which reinforces the need for rigor in controlling the mobility of foreigners, without creating xenophobic barriers

António da Conceição Neto made these considerations during his speech at the opening act of the commemorative activities of the 47th anniversary of the SME, which will be celebrated on the 19th of this month.

He assured that the Angolan State has been adopting policies that emphasize the positive contribution of emigrants, based on legality, transforming migrations into a gain and not a problem.

He acknowledged that migration plays a decisive role in the socio-economic development of the country, a phenomenon that should make society aware of the need for reflection and not the creation of tribal barriers.

He also highlighted the contribution of this phenomenon in strengthening healthy coexistence between individuals of different nationalities, based on the principle of universal citizenship and solidarity.

He said that migrations mark the evolution and transformations of today’s world, and with them they can generate solidarity or discrimination, feelings of exclusion, dialogue or fundamentalism.

Thus, he continued, it is the duty of Angolans to make the contribution of emigrants a source of reciprocal enrichment, in the construction of a culture of peace and social justice for all.

The program of activities for the 47th anniversary of the creation of the SME includes lectures on disciplinary measures and their consequences in light of the institution’s disciplinary regulations, sports and recreational activities.

Activities take place under the motto “SME- 47 years committed to modernization to better serve”.
