Africa-Press – Angola. The access road to the commune of Massangano, municipality of Cambambe, a 22-kilometre route, will be paved from this year onwards, announced the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos.
The project, according to the minister, is included in the 2024 General State Budget (OGE) and aims to improve the circulation of people and goods in this tourist region of the country.
Carlos Alberto, who was speaking to the press on Saturday, in the city of Dondo, municipality of Cambambe, at the end of a two-day working visit to the province of Cuanza- Norte, informed that the public tender for the award of the work is currently underway, in line with current legislation on public procurement.
The commune of Massangano, located at the confluence between the Lucala and Kwanza rivers, is one of the main historical and tourist centers in the province of Cuanza-Norte.
Second, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, in addition to the asphalting of the Massangano road, the public contracting process is also underway for the Ring Road project in the City of Ndalatando, capital of the province of Cuanza- Norte.
This circular, he explained, will allow heavy road traffic to be diverted from the city.
He also announced the intervention on the Alto Dondo/Ndalatando section, a route of 76 kilometers, Ndalatando/Lucala, 38 kilometers, as well as Catete/MariaTeresa/Zenza do Itombe/Caxilo.
He clarified that the work on these sections aims to keep the approximately one thousand kilometers between Luanda/Saurimo(Lunda-Sul) trafficable,
The asphalting of the Samba Caju/Uiangombe/Banga/Quiculungo/Bolongongo section is already underway in the province and is expected to be completed by the end of this year, covering a length of 92 kilometres.
The Cambondo/Nonguembo road is also being paved, the project being carried out by the company China Tiesiju Enginnering Group CO Limitada (CTCE).
This project includes the asphalting of 36 kilometers, on the Cambondo (Golungo Alto)/ Quilombo dos Dembos (Ngonguembo) section.
The rehabilitation of the Caxilo/Ndalatando section, on national road 230, over a 45-kilometre route, whose works began two weeks ago, is budgeted at 47 billion, 502 million, 800 thousand kwanzas and will be carried out over a period of 24 months.
The leader expressed satisfaction with the construction and rehabilitation work on around 200 kilometers of the road network in the province.
