Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, evaluated Friday, the construction works of the new football stadium in Uíge, underway in the Quilomosso area, in the capital of the province.

The sports infrastructure, whose work started in May this year, will have the capacity to accommodate 10,000 spectators.

Under construction in an area of ​​five hectares, the stadium, budgeted at 38 million 803 thousand and 203 US dollars, will have two side stands, car parking, medical emergency rooms, two studios for radio and television, four changing rooms and others. compartments.

Expected to last three years, the construction work on the new stadium in Uíge is being carried out by the company Kora Internacional Swiss AG.

Speaking to the press at the end of the visit, Palmira Barbosa highlighted the pace of construction work on that sports infrastructure, with a physical execution of 7.1 percent.

The minister also assessed the condition of the Olympic swimming pool in the city of Uíge, located in the Popular district.

He admitted that the sports development, built in the colonial era, is in a state of disrepair.

As a result, he spoke of the possibility of building a new one.

The city of Uíge has two football stadiums (4 de Janeiro and Futebol Clube do Uíge).
