Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, welcomed the second position achieved by the National Team in the African Championship of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), which ended recently in South Africa.

At the continental event, Angola was represented by a delegation of 14 athletes, of both sexes, having won 12 medals, of which four gold, two silver and six bronze, in different categories.

This achievement, according to the minister, who was speaking to the press on Sunday, at the end of the Provincial Senior Women’s Basketball Championship in Luanda, won by 1° de Agosto, demonstrates commitment and willingness to represent the country with dignity at the event.

Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto also congratulated 1° de Agosto for winning the provincial title in senior women’s basketball, with a 60-56 victory over Interclube.

“I followed the game. It was a good show, in which the players of 1° de Agosto were happier for the title”, he stressed.

In addition to Angola, the host South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Zambia, Nigeria, Namibia and Zimbabwe participated in the continental event.
