Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, said Monday in Barcelona, ​​Spain, that Angola is changing the current economic model, moving from an economy based on oil exports to a productive and diversified economy.

The minister, who was speaking within the scope of closer relations between the Republic of Angola and the Kingdom of Spain, before the 7th edition of the fair Imex – Impulso Exterior-Barcelona with Angola, highlighted the advantages that Angola has for investment such as the territorial extension arable land, water, protection of foreign capital and, above all, young labor, since of the 33 million inhabitants, around 75% are between 15 and 35 years old.

The minister has been in Barcelona since April 17 with a delegation comprising around 20 national businessmen from the most varied sectors.

The minister held a meeting with the Intra-sectoral Business Confederation (CECOT), representing 35 Catalan companies, a city that is home to most of Spain’s industrial infrastructure.

Victor Fernandes also said that the country intends to move from an economy based on oil exports to a diversified productive economy.

He made known to the Intra-sectoral Business Confederation of Barcelona the Planagão, a national macro program, which reserves more than two million hectares for the production of grains.

On the Spanish side, the president of the Intra-sectorial Business Confederation – CECOT, Xavier Panés Sancho, was accompanied by some Spanish businessmen from the fields of window frames and door automation, hospital materials, frozen pastry products, industrial laundry, production of coffee, cocoa and not only.

The businessmen, through the general director of Pastisart for the agri-food sector, Núria Betriu, agreed to point out that Angola is a market that interests the Spanish business community and that this door that is once again opening is an added value for both countries .

This is the 7th edition of the Imex – Impulso Exterior-Barcelona fair with Angola as the protagonist, which will officially open tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19, at the World Trade Center in Barcelona.

Impulso África is the initiative launched by Revista Moneda Única in 2021, which promotes greater knowledge of the African continent among Spanish entrepreneurs, in order to increase the current numbers of trade and investment.
