Africa-Press – Angola. Minister of Interior Manuel Homem reaffirmed on Friday in Luanda that the training and development of officers is a priority in the strategies of the department and the General Command of the National Police (CGPN).
Speaking at the opening of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Comandante JoseĢ Alfredo Ekuikui Police College, the minister said the event is part of the quest for an increasingly better police force, more committed to public safety.
According to the minister, this is the commitment everyone must continue to have, aiming for a capable National Police that respects the values of a country committed to public safety and social peace. Therefore, this school constitutes a social and human pillar of the force.
“This is where the commitment to ensuring that the children of those who, with bravery and sacrifice, served and protected their country, have access to a dignified future, illuminated by knowledge, is fulfilled,” the minister said.
The ceremony also served as the handover of a fully equipped computer room and laboratory, which will be available to the students, most of whom are orphans of National Police officers.
