Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, hopes, this Thursday, that the General State Budget (OGE) 2023 will, in fact, serve the interests of the people and satisfy their deepest aspirations.

The minister from Esrado was speaking at a meeting in the National Assembly with deputies, provincial governors and assistants to the holder of the Executive Branch, within the framework of the discussion of the General State Budget (OGE) 2023, which will undergo final global approval next month.

“When we said that OGE is the main instrument of the country, this statement is not made in a vague way, it has very big implications because it touches the life of the whole society, families, companies and the State itself”, he stressed.

He recalled that, for this reason, the message from the President of the Republic presented at the beginning of the discussion and in the generality of this important document made the reference that “the Executive would be here to discuss the budget in a genuine, serious, rigorous and profound way .

The 2023 OGE Proposal, with expenditures and revenues estimated at 20.1 billion kwanzas, prioritizes the social sector, with a weight of 23.9 percent over total OGE expenditure and estimates a reference price of US$75 per barrel of oil and an average oil production of 1.18 million barrels.

In terms of overall expenditure, social expenditure is the second largest after debt service, with a weight of 23.9 percent and is the largest share of fiscal expenditure, accounting for around 43.5 percent of total fiscal expenditure.
