Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Chinguar, in the province of Bié, won on Wednesday a pasta and biscuits factory, opened by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano.
In a private initiative of the Vinevala farm, the factory joins the production lines of wheat and corn flour in operation on an experimental basis since last year.
The factory has a daily production capacity of 35 tons of pasta and 15 tons of biscuits. The wheat flour mill has a capacity of 60 tons/day.
In a first phase, the factory has generated 62 direct jobs.
At the occasion, the owner of the factory, Alfeu Vinevala, informed that the infrastructure produces pasta such as spaghetti and pasta, biscuits and more than three million dollars were invested in this project.
Alfeu Vinevala said that the investment made in the crop fields, both in Chinguar and Andulo, Bié province, are still insufficient to ensure all the raw material (wheat) that is required in the factory, so he can count on the support of other local producers and the provinces of Huambo and Cubango.
On the occasion, the Minister of State José de Lima Massano was satisfied with the work carried out by local entrepreneurs in the diversification of the national economy, taking advantage of all the potential that the country offers, for the well-being of all. LB/PLB
He said that the initiative should inspire other entrepreneurs from different sectors, in order to stimulate the economy of other regions of the country, so that they can continue to help the State in promoting employability.
Finally, he reaffirmed the Executive commitment to continue to support all peasants for the food security that is intended.
The opening ceremony was witnessed by the governor of Bié, Celeste Adolfo, among other members of the government.
