Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Romania Monday, in Luanda, analyzed the status of the expansion of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly the issue linked to Romanian investment in the country.

To that end, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, received, in audience, the minister-counselor and charge d’affaires of the Romanian Embassy in Angola, Florin Tudoire.

The occasion, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also served to address the issue of the moment, linked to the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, with the emphasis falling on the treatment given to Angolans who are taking refuge in Romania.

Angola and Romania share long-standing friendship and historical ties. The European country is an important business platform in Southeast Central Europe and intends to invest in Angola in the diamond sector, with the installation of diamond exploration industries in the municipality of Nharea, in the province of Bié.

In addition to diamonds, Romania also intends to invest in other areas, with emphasis on Agriculture and Renewable Energy, in order to contribute to sustainable development and, consequently, the creation of jobs, especially for nationals.

Romania has a large maize production capacity and is on the list of the main wheat exporters in the European Union, with a very advanced processing technology component. It is known for the forested region of Transylvania, surrounded by the Carpathians. Among its preserved medieval towns is Sighsoara and there are many castles and fortified churches.
