Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, considered the internationalization of companies from Angola and the Czech Republic necessary, with direct investment and partnerships to contribute to the process of diversification of the economy.

Speaking at a consultation meeting with the Angolan community in the Czech Republic, he underlined that the country has changed the paradigm since 2017 and is committed to consolidating the Democratic State and the rule of law, combating corruption and diversifying the economy.

“These are reforms that made it possible to leave a situation of recession for a framework of economic growth, which we now want to transform into sustainable and inclusive development”, he said.

Among the 15 representatives of the community, mostly businessmen from the areas of health, ornamental stones, automotive production, banking, as well as land and air transport, expressed their satisfaction with the fact that in 30 years, for the first time they had a face-to-face meeting with an Angolan government delegation at ministerial level.

“We feel very honored by the fact that even before the Government of Angola spoke with the Czech authorities, it first listened to the community and presented the current situation in the country”, underlined Orlando Dovala, quoted in a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Planning.

On the occasion, the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities qualified Angolan emigrants in the Czech Republic as being “among the most integrated into local society, because almost all of them have specialized studies and work on their own, as entrepreneurs or carry out management responsibilities in multinational companies installed in this market”.
