Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) plans, for the year 2024, more actions and investments by the Executive to strengthen the distribution and commercialization capacity of electrical energy in the country.

In a note sent this Saturday, it is indicated that the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, at the end-of-year greeting ceremony on Friday, said that priority will fall to remote areas, where the supply of electricity is deficient.

In addition, the note also states that the head of MINEA highlighted the sector’s advances in 2023, with the reversal of the scenario of tanker trucks and buckets on top in search of drinking water, observed in some neighborhoods of Luanda and other regions of the country .

The minister highlighted the “Bita” project in Luanda, with a satisfactory level of execution of infrastructure for water capture and treatment and for its distribution.

He also highlighted the Kilunda Project, which will be the largest Water Treatment Plant and the gains of the electrical energy sub-sector in the field of production, transport and distribution.

João Borges also expressed his displeasure at the wave of vandalism that has occurred in recent days, which has even affected towers and high voltage lines, calling on the authorities to fight relentlessly against the enemies of the country’s well-being and development.

Still in this vein, the population is called upon to play its role as an active agent in denouncing individuals involved in these practices.
