Headed by Ambassador Felisberto Martins, the technical team held a working meeting on Saturday with diplomats from the Angolan Embassy in Brazil, with whom it discussed aspects related to the organization of the Joint Commission, an event considered to be important.

The meeting, which should culminate in the signing of some Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in the most varied domains, is eagerly awaited as it will mark the resumption of a new era in cooperation relations between the two countries.

According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Brazil, this Sunday, the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, is due to travel next Tuesday to the city of Brasília to head the Angolan delegation.

The aforementioned delegation includes senior officials from MIREX, the Ministries of the Interior, Transport, Agriculture and Forestry, Finance, Health, Culture and Tourism, Economy and Planning.

Cooperation between Angola and Brazil began to take shape on June 11, 1980, with the signing of the Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement.

Under this agreement, the two countries developed cooperation in the areas of defence, health, culture, public administration, professional training, education, environment, sports, statistics and agriculture.

Angola and Brazil have also worked to strengthen and deepen their relationship within the CPLP, with emphasis on issues of mobility agreements, investment facilitation and double taxation.
