Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and 59 thousand 161 Identity Cards (BI) have been abandoned, since 2020, at the points issuing the document in the 16 municipalities of Uíge province, said Thursday, the provincial delegate for Justice, Mankenda Verónica Lima.
The province of Uíge issues 100 to 150 identity cards per day.
In an interview, the official explained that a list of ID owners has been taken in several villages in the province, use of information media and other forms of communication, so that citizens can collect their documents.
He added that it is intended to create four identity posts in Candombe Novo, Zona Industrial, Gai and in Centralidade do Quilomosso, on the outskirts of the city of Uíge, to join the two already existing in the main municipality, with a view to reducing flooding.
He pointed out the lack of decent staff and infrastructure as the main constraints for carrying out the activity in Uíge province.
The Provincial Delegation of Justice has 16 fixed posts and three mobile ones, where 190 employees work.
