Africa-Press – Angola. The National Police in Lunda Norte Monday prevented the illegal departure of 19,775 liters of diesel, which were destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The information was provided Tuesday, in Dundo, by the spokesman for the Provincial Delegation of the Interior, Rodrigues Zeca, stressing that the alleged smuggler was arrested and the vehicle carrying the product was seized.
He revealed that, during the seizure, the presumed perpetrator of the crime tried to bribe the National Police agents on duty with 200,000 kwanzas, to facilitate the passage of the product.
He added that the citizen is accused of committing crimes of active corruption and smuggling, and will be forwarded to the Public Ministry for the subsequent steps, with the vehicle, fuel and values handed over to Dundo’s customs office.
