More than 80 children from the Ana Jetu home reintegrated into the family

Africa-Press – Angola. More than 80 children residing at the “Ana Jetu” reception center belonging to the Catholic Church, in Luena, Moxico province, have already been reintegrated into the family, said this Friday, the head of the said home, Carlos Cahilo .

Speaking to the press, after an act of solidarity promoted by the Solidarity Support Movement of Angola (MOVANGOLA), Carlos Cahilo said that the referred children, until then considered lost, come from several provinces of the country, mainly from the Lobito corridor. (Benguela, Huambo and Bié), due to the ease of the Benguela Railway.

He reiterated that the reception centre, the only one in the province, depends on the Catholic Church, whose operation depends on some donations from social organizations and individuals.

Currently, he said, the center assists 11 children who attend academic classes and specific subjects on solidarity, and handicrafts.

For his part, the provincial secretary of the Solidarity Support Movement of Angola (MOVANGOLA), Valdano Cajinji, called on families to dedicate greater care to the little ones, in order to avoid the phenomenon of street children.

As part of the celebration of its tenth anniversary, this social organization donated essential goods and teaching materials to the Ana Jetu reception centre.
