Africa-Press – Angola. The Integrated Public Security Center (CISP) in Huíla received 39,478 false calls for help and alleged complaints during the first quarter of the current year, corresponding to 97.827 percent of all calls in the period.

The CISP has been in operation since July 22, 2022 and has helped to clarify crimes and quickly provide assistance to victims.

Taking stock of the public security situation in Huíla in the first quarter to the press, the head of operations of the National Police (PN) in Huíla, intendant Evaristo Haufico, said that the center received a total of 40,355 calls.

He referred to be a concern, the excessive number of invalid calls, as most people who call are not to make proper use of the number in question, but to present situations that have nothing to do with public safety.

He declared that only 877 were valid, embodied in requests for help to intervene in criminal situations and administrative transgressions such as violations of the rules of the Highway Code, disorderly street sales, among others.

Evaristo Haufico informed that the calls also served to intervene in medical assistance and hospital support to the National Institute of Medical Emergencies of Angola (INEMA), removal of corpses, as well as cases of public utility.

He highlighted that the CISP brought added value in bringing the citizen and the Police together, as well as facilitating the timely action of the corporation, since when faced with a complaint, the center manages the occurrences and ends up communicating the units that are closer in a timely manner.

He appealed to society to be aware that the number 111 is an emergency number, and normally people calling to present situations similar to their nature may be congesting the system and who needs timely help from the corporation may be left without help.

CISP- Huíla has been in operation since July 22, 2022 and currently has cameras installed in Largo Gabriel Calof, Rua da Casa Pato, in João de Almeida, in the section of Mukanca International Airport, in the neighborhoods of Nambambi, Mutundo, between other points in Lubango.
