Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, paid tribute this Tuesday to King Mohammed V, with the laying of a wreath at the Mausoleum.
During their stay at Mausoleum Mohammed V, the Angolan delegation received additional information about the history of the infrastructure and the reign of King Mohammed V.
The Mausoleum of Mohamed V is located in front of the Hassan Tower, in Yacoub Al Mansour square, and is easily recognizable by its white walls and green tiled roof.
Its interior is finished in white marble, with granite floors and walls. In the center, a rock made of granite and a tombstone indicates the final resting place of the great Moroccan king.
The sliding doors and ceiling were also carved with motifs and designs. To complete the structure, spectacular chandeliers illuminate the room and red carpets are placed on the stairs.
The Angolan parliamentary delegation, which is in Rabat for a five-day visit, within the framework of cooperation with the Moroccan counterpart, also took advantage of the morning to visit tourist and cultural sites.
This Tuesday’s agenda also includes a meeting with the president of the Chamber of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, Rachid Talbi Alami, for the signing of the Memorandum between the Chamber of Representatives and the National Assembly.
The Angolan parliamentary delegation also has important meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residents Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and with the President of the Chamber of Councillors, Naan Miyara.
The Angolan parliamentary delegation is made up of deputies Alcides Sakala, Lourdes Caposso and Narciso Benedito, as well as the secretary general of the National Assembly, Agostinho Nery.
