Africa-Press – Angola. The centre-east Province of Moxico won a total of 50 medals in four sports during its participation in the 13th edition of the National School Games, held in Luanda on 8th to 30th August, this year.
Moxico won gold medals in men’s handball and 32 victories in men’s football, athletics, and women’s handball, according to the spokesperson for the Moxico Delegation, Alfeu Justo also known as “Zé Gordo”, who spoke to ANGOP, as he took stock of the event.
Comparing this to the penultimate participation held in the Province of Huíla, the official stated that there was an increase from 5th place in the previous edition to 2nd place in the recently concluded event.
He added that basketball is the only sport in which Moxico did not win medals.
The Province of Moxico participated in the competition in four sports namely football, basketball, athletics and handball, with a total of eight athletes, 40 of whom were female
The 13th edition of the National School Games 2024/2025, held in Luanda, featured handball, football, basketball, athletics, volleyball and gymnastics.
