Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, has been in Windhoek, capital of the Republic of Namibia, since Sunday, at the invitation of the Namibian party Swapo, as part of strengthening cooperation between both political formations.
According to a press, Luísa Damião works for six days in Namibia, where she will hold a courtesy meeting with the President of the Republic, Nangolo Mbumba
Meetings are also scheduled with the vice-president of SWAPO and the Republic of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and with different figures from this party in power in this country.
Upon her arrival, the MPLA vice-president was received by the Minister of the Presidency of Namibia, Christine Hoebes.
Luísa Damião heads a delegation that includes the secretary of the Political Bureau for International Relations, Manuel Augusto, the secretary of the Political Bureau for Social Policy, Maricel Capama, the secretary general of the OMA, Joana Tomás, and the first national secretary of JMPLA, Crispiniano dos Santos.
Since the liberation struggle of the people of Angola and Namibia, which began in the 1960s and culminated in the proclamation of independence of Angola in 1975 and Namibia in 1990, the MPLA and SWAPO have maintained a close relationship of cooperation.
