This Thursday, the MPLA approved the Government Program 2022-2027 and the Electoral Manifesto, in which it maintains its commitment to continue to ensure the country’s sustainable socio-economic development and the improvement of the quality of life of all Angolans, as a way of to guarantee the aspirations of the people.
The Programme, approved at the Second Extraordinary Session of the Central Committee, has proposals for political measures such as the consolidation of peace and democracy, State reform and good governance. It also reiterates the harmonious development of the territory, the promotion of human capital, with emphasis on education, health, employment, culture and sport, as well as the reduction of social inequalities, the fight against hunger and poverty, and gender equality.
The Central Committee also highlights the modernization and efficiency of infrastructure, the intensification of economic diversification, with a predominance of the productive and private sector, and expresses its commitment to ensuring the defense of sovereignty, the integrity of the territory and national security. , reads in the final communiqué.
The members of the Central Committee welcomed the fact that the MPLA’s Government Program 2022-2027, structured in seven Strategic Axes, and its Electoral Manifesto, composed of three designs, were preceded by an extensive work of social dialogue promoted by the party, from a thorough assessment and evaluation of the 2017-2022 government activity, as well as the absorption of the Leader’s Strategy Motion, approved at the VIII Ordinary Congress of the MPLA, held in December 2021, in Luanda. The members of the Central Committee congratulated and encouraged the increase and reinforcement of the work with the electorate, carried out by the Party Committees and their social organizations at all levels, with a view to ensuring the presence of militants and voters at the polls at the time of voting, to guarantee a resounding victory for the MPLA and its leader, comrade João Lourenço.
At the meeting, the Political Bureau was mandated, through its secretariat, to ensure, if necessary, and within the framework of the candidacy validation process by the Constitutional Court, all adjustments and corrections that lead to the final approval of the list of candidates for deputies. from the MPLA to the General Elections, at the same court.
In this order, the filling of the vacancy resulting from the termination of membership in the party, by death, of comrade Ana Maria Sebastião Gomes, member of the Central Committee, by comrade Feliciana Dorcas Fernandes António, from the national circle, was approved, in accordance with the order of precedence from the list submitted for suffrage at the VIII Ordinary Congress of the MPLA, as well as subparagraph a) of article 24 and paragraph 1 of article 118, both of the MPLA Statutes, combined with subparagraph a) of paragraph 3 of article 109 of the Regulation General of Organization and Functioning of Intermediate and National Organs and Organisms of the Party.
The Central Committee saluted the peoples of Africa for the celebration of the 25th of May – Africa Day – Cradle of Humanity continent and welcomed the prestige gained by Angola in the African context and in the world, resulting from the diplomatic action carried out by the Executive headed by Comrade President João Lourenço, which consists, among others, in the promotion of peace and sustainable stability, as well as in the rejection of unconstitutional changes in governments, essential factors for the growth and development of our continent.
Thus, the members congratulated comrade João Lourenço, president of the MPLA and the Republic, for the recognition of his commitment to the pacification of the continent, through the designation of “Champion of Peace and Reconciliation in Africa”, which was attributed to him by the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
According to the final communiqué, activists, sympathizers and the population in general were urged to participate, in an active, joyful and responsible way, in all activities alluding to the centenary of the birth of the Founder of the Nation, President Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto.
The Central Committee welcomed the celebration of the International Children’s Day, celebrated in Angola under the motto “All United for the Protection and Integral Development of Children”, reiterating the commitment to continue to promote policies and actions that guarantee Angolan children everything they deserve. .
