Africa-Press – Angola. The coordinator of the monitoring group of the secretariat of the MPLA political bureau for the province of Bié, Maria Idalina Valente, urged, this Friday, the activists in this region to invest seriously in agriculture and other productive activities.
Maria Idalina Valente, who spoke at a mass event in the municipality of Andulo, considered that the agricultural sector creates thousands of jobs and contributes to the diversification of the country’s economy.
Therefore, activists and others, he said, should invest in this sector, as the province is suitable for this, with fertile soils and abundant rivers.
On the other hand, he recalled that the MPLA government continues to work on the construction of dams, to encourage the emergence of new factories among other projects, such as supplying electricity to the population.
The first secretary of the MPLA in Bié, Pereira Alfredo, also reaffirmed that the party continues to work hard to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the population, advocating firmness, dedication and commitment among its militants.
According to him, the promises of the 2022 elections are already being felt, with the improvement of the supply of electricity, drinking water, rehabilitation and construction of roads and bridges, construction of more health units and schools, among others.
“We recognize that we still have problems to resolve, but despite this, the MPLA member must always be ready and firm when called upon to support the party and its leader, João Lourenço, in actions aimed at the well-being of the population.
The mass event preceded the VI ordinary session of the MPLA Provincial Committee in Bié, which debated topics such as filling a vacancy in the provincial committee, assessment and approval of the report of the executive committee from November 2023 to April 2024 and its degree of compliance, schedule of activities for the period from May to October 2024.
Party members were also informed about the preparation and carrying out of the process of review assemblies and renewal of mandates of action committees and communal and municipal review conferences, preparation and carrying out of the organic process of the ninth ordinary congress of the JMPLA, preparation of the General Population and Housing Census, as well as the new administrative division and structuring projects to be implemented in the province.
