Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first secretary in Cuanza-Sul province, Narciso Benedito, stated on Thursday that investment in young people is a decisive factor in securing the country’s future, with a focus on education, training, entrepreneurship and social inclusion.

Speaking at the opening of the JMPLA’s multidisciplinary camp, the party official encouraged young people to take an active role in national development, as well as in civic and political life.

Narciso Benedito reaffirmed the party’s commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of the population, noting that improving the living conditions of Angolan families depends on access to education, healthcare, housing, employment and dignity, as well as on actively listening to communities.

The politician highlighted the political significance of the moment, given the preparations for the party’s 9th Ordinary Congress, under the slogan “MPLA – 70 years, commitment to the people, confidence in the future”.

The event, which runs until Sunday in the town of Quipela, in the municipality of Gângula, brings together 770 JMPLA activists from the province’s 24 municipalities.

During the meeting, participants will discuss topics related to active citizenship, youth leadership, political participation, the responsible use of social media and mental health, as well as visiting academic and research institutions in the province.
