The second secretary of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA in Malanje, Nelo de Carvalho, Saturday, in this city, appealed to the party’s militants in order to be more interactive and united, in favor of the interests of the organization, with a view to better serving the citizens.
For the politician, the union strengthens the party, hence it must be the main legacy, leaving aside personal interests, as they harm the MPLA, therefore, the party’s intentions must be in the first place, to successfully carry out the mission to serve the citizens and improve the living conditions of all.
The leader made this appeal when he was speaking at the end of the IV extraordinary municipal conference of Malanje for the renewal of mandates, as coordinator of the follow-up group of the Provincial Committee of the party to the municipality of Malanje.
According to the politician, one must have the courage to accept the party’s challenges and affirm oneself as true militants, committed to the party’s causes.
He added that this stance also involves joining efforts in favor of the growth of the MPLA, starting from the base structures.
However, he appealed for more cohesion with a view to strengthening the MPLA, each one at their level having to carry out the tasks entrusted to them with responsibility, stressing that it was the intention to involve youth in this mission, as the party needs to rejuvenate itself.
On the other hand, Nelo de Carvalho exhorted the militants to monitor government actions and denounce bad practices, as this is the only way it will be possible to move towards the path that is intended to be achieved, towards improving the quality of life of citizens. .
In turn, the newly elected municipal secretary of Malanje, Fernandes Cristóvão, defended the need for the party to work increasingly with responsibility, bravery and unity so that the MPLA achieves the objectives of the future, to continue to lead the country’s destiny.
“The fundamental mission is not to conquer power, but to continue solving the problems of the citizen”, he said, adding that for the success of this mission, it will be necessary to engage everyone in strengthening the basic structures of the party, towards satisfaction. of the needs of the population.
The conference took place under the motto “MPLA-work harder and communicate better” and elected Fernandes Cristóvão to replace João de Assunção, with 213 votes in favour, corresponding to 93.1 percent of the 229 delegates.
