Africa-Press – Angola. The second secretary of the MPLA in Huambo province, Adérito Chimuco, defended Tuesday, the need to reinforce youth tolerance, as a decisive factor for the preservation of peace and the consolidation of national unity and reconciliation.

The political official was speaking at the opening of the II University Youth Forum on the promotion of the Culture of Peace, in an initiative of the provincial secretariat of JMPLA in Huambo.

The event, held under the motto: “Angolan youth firm in the preservation of peace and development marked the opening of the April Youth journey of the youth arm of the MPLA, at the level of the province of Huambo.

On the occasion, he reminded those present that before peace was reached, on April 4, 2002, Angola experienced critical moments, which caused countless consequences for the country, in which the youth was always called to occupy the line of frequent

Therefore, he said, there is a need to preserve this greater good, by reinforcing youth tolerance, as the largest fringe and driving force of society, so that there is, more and more, harmony and social stability.

“We permanently need to be tolerant, starting within ourselves and within the family, because tolerance leads people to the paths that build peace and national unity”, said the partisan.

In turn, the first secretary of JMPLA in Huambo, José Carlos Tombo, made it known that the forum aimed to educate young participants for the preservation of peace and national unity, promoting fundamental values ​​such as love of the country, solidarity, social justice , in order to guarantee their effective participation in the socio-economic and cultural development actions of the country and the province, in particular.

In this way, he continued, it is intended to contribute to collective responsibility and the continuous construction of a climate of peace in Angola, for the greatest achievement of Angolans after National Independence, on 11 November 1975.

“We have to continue to strive for peace in Angola to become the main identity force of Angolans and to maintain the spirit of unity, tolerance and respect for difference, so that the future generation will find in it a true fraternal and harmonious environment, generating, this time, a peaceful and increasingly democratic Angola”, concluded the youth politician.

Participants at the event addressed, in two panels, themes such as “The contribution of the church in preserving peace”, “The contribution of youth in preserving peace”, “The socioeconomic development and culture of Angola in an environment of peace” and “The importance of habits and customs in the preservation of peace”.
