Africa-Press – Angola. MPLA MPs will begin, as of this Monday (29), visits to the country’s 164 municipalities, to verify the degree of execution of projects linked to the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), Public Investments and fight against poverty.

The information was advanced this Sunday by the spokesman for the MPLA parliamentary group, Antunes Guanje, noting that during the visits to the municipalities, which end on June 3, the deputies will also verify the fulfillment of previous promises, but interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19.

He informed that legislators will advocate for the need to develop, more and more, integrated public policies that allow the reinforcement of access to services and equipment to support the family, “in order to leverage the much desired reduction of poverty”.

During five days of visits, the parliamentarians will develop direct meetings with the populations, local authorities and community leaders, to hear from them the main concerns of the communities and transmit “in loco” the political, economic and social agenda of the MPLA for the current year.

Antunes Guanje made it known that MPLA deputies elected by the national constituency will reinforce verification visits at provincial constituency level.

He said it was an official agenda drawn up by the MPLA parliamentary group within the framework of the V Legislature of the National Assembly.

The National Assembly (AN) is made up of 220 deputies. In the last elections of 2022, the MPLA elected 124 deputies and holds the parliamentary majority.
