Africa-Press – Angola. The militant Lurdes Kaposso Fernandes was elected, yesterday, coordinator of the Commission of Discipline, Ethics and Audit of the MPLA in the province of Luanda, in an extraordinary meeting of this committee, guided by its first secretary Manuel Homem.
The electoral process had the participation of 205 members of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA of Luanda, who approved the creation of the Discipline, Ethics and Audit commission, composed of 17 members.
In the presence of Ventura de Azevedo, member of the Follow-up Group of the MPLA Political Bureau to the province of Luanda, Garcia Sungo was also elected as deputy coordinator of the said commission.
Lurdes Kaposso is a member of the Central Committee of the MPLA and a member of the National Assembly for this political formation.
Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, the provincial secretary for Information and Propaganda of the MPLA, Aguinaldo de Oliveira, referred that the members of the committee welcomed the intense diplomatic activity carried out recently by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, and the 15th victory of the women’s handball team in the African Cup of Nations.
He informed that the members congratulated the youth organization of the MPLA (JMPLA), for its 60th anniversary, marked this Wednesday (23/11), and the secretary general of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA), Joana Tomás, for her election to the position of vice-president of the Women’s Socialist International for the Southern African Region, which took place on Tuesday (22nd), in the Kingdom of Spain.
At the end of the meeting, the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Luanda, Manuel Homem, received a youth delegation from FRELIMO, the ruling party in Mozambique, which is taking part in the Angolan capital, from 23 to 25 of this month, in the international forum for young people from embassies.
