Africa-Press – Angola. The general secretary of the MPLA, Paulo Pombolo, delivered, this Friday, agricultural inputs to ex-military cooperatives in Camacupa and Catabola, in the province of Bié, with the aim of encouraging farmers to increase their production and productivity levels.
The action is part of the More Angola, More Citizenship Program, carried out by the MPLA’s Citizenship and Civil Society Office, aimed at combating hunger and poverty in communities.
On this occasion, Paulo Pombolo reiterated his appeal to activists and the population in general, to invest in agricultural production, aiming to diversify the national economy, to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis.
On the occasion, Paulo Pombolo was satisfied with the socio-economic development achieved by the two municipalities, as a result of the implementation of public programs, with emphasis on PIIM, as well as the organization of his party.
In these municipalities, the person in charge took the opportunity to check the progress of the rehabilitation works of the Camacupa hydroelectric plant and the construction of the Catabola electrical substation, to be carried out within the framework of the Integrated Municipal Intervention Plan (PIIM).
At party level, the general secretary of the MPLA was informed of the level of organization of some action committees, as part of the process of reviewing and renewing the mandate of the party’s base structures.

The remains of the deceased, a victim of illness during the armed conflict, were handed over to the family by the Commission for Reconciliation in Memory of Victims of Political Conflicts (CIVICOP), who were then buried in the town of Ndjile, on the outskirts of the city of Cuíto.
On Saturday, the agenda of the third day of work of the MPLA delegation in the province located in the center of Angola will extend to the municipalities of Cuíto and Chinguar, with a visit to the International University of Cuanza and meetings with leaders of sports associations , youth and with representatives of civil society organizations.
