Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, said Monday, that she hopes, with the visit of the deputies, for a new dynamic in the allocation of funds for the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) .
Lotti Nolika expressed this wish in declarations, at the reception of the delegation of MPs from the MPLA Parliamentary Bench, with the aim of verifying the degree of execution of the projects that are being executed, within the scope of the PIIM.
Led by the coordinator of the Follow-up Group of the MPLA Parliamentary Group to Huambo province, Rui Falcão, the delegation will carry out a five-day working visit to the 11 municipalities in the region, where it will verify the status of social projects.
On the occasion, the party official stated that the delay in the availability of budgets is the main concern presented by municipal administrators during the consultation meeting with the parliamentary delegation.
Therefore, he said he believed that with the arrival of the deputies, there will be improvements with regard to the financial component of the PIIM for the province of Huambo.
According to Lotti Nolika, despite the delays in making funds available, PIIM’s actions register a satisfactory degree of execution.
In turn, the coordinator of the delegation, Rui Falcão, made it known that, in addition to verifying the projects, the visits will also serve to gather from the communities about future actions.
In this region of the Central Plateau, the PIIM has registered 307 actions, of which 277 were sent and approved by the National Directorate of Public Investments (DNIP).
Of the total number of projects, 149 have already been completed, 109 in progress, representing a 54 percent degree of execution, while another 15 are yet to start.
From a budgetary point of view, of the 53 billion, 741 million, 327 thousand and 815 Kwanzas that make up the financing portfolio, an amount of 33 billion, 68 million, 781 thousand and 14 Kwanzas has already been disbursed, corresponding to 61.53 Percent.
In the province of Huambo, located in the Center region of the country, live two million 756 thousand and 159 inhabitants, distributed in 11 municipalities and 37 communes, three thousand 207 localities, of which 341 are urban and two thousand 886 villages, in a territorial extension of 35 thousand 771 square kilometers.
