Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Huambo continues to take firm steps towards socio-economic development, as a result of the construction of various infrastructures, said Saturday, the first local secretary of the MPLA, Lotti Nolika.

The party official, who was speaking at the Second Methodological Meeting of the MPLA in Huambo, said that, despite the current economic and financial difficulties in the country and the world in general, this region of the Central Plateau is witnessing the birth of various social facilities, bringing more life and dynamics in the neighborhoods.

Of these works, he highlighted the start of construction of the Maternal and Child Hospital, the Mambroa Stadium, the resumption of the Electrification Program of neighborhoods and municipalities, as well as the most recent authorization for the disbursement of US$203.7 million for the realization of several other works.

Lotti Nolika indicated that such development results from the diagnosis made by the Government of Huambo, which sent, in a timely manner, the concerns to the work table of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, which allowed the carrying out of major local works.

She underlined that, in this difficult economic context, the MPLA’s work and engagement must always bring a stage of hope to the population, for a better and happier life.

She informed that the Second Methodological Meeting of the MPLA in Huambo aims, among others, to train leaders, officials, party cadres and social organizations, with a view to strengthening skills, for greater insertion in society and the improvement of methods of action.

He asked the militants to improve the reinforcement of the dialogue and the permanent approximation of governance with the citizens, for the fulfillment of the objectives and goals set, taking into account the motto “Work harder and communicate better”
